Long <br /> Division Director <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 (RN-3) <br />Roadside Portals (Permit No. C-1981-041) <br />Dear Mesa County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to approve with <br />conditions a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by <br />Powderhom Coal Company on July 7, 1997, for the Roadside Portals. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the <br />Division in The Daily Sentinel. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 5 miles north of Palisade. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 26,2 7, 28, 29, 34, and 35, TIOS, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 6, 7, and <br />18, TI 1 S, R97W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and l4, Tl I S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section <br />1, Tl S, R2E, Ute PM; all in Mesa County. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at <br />the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office.
