Cattarty <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) is proposing to approve a renewal application for coal mining and <br />reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited on September 16, 2002 for the Bowie Mine <br />No. 1. In accordance with Rule 2.07.4(2)(c) of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for <br />Coal Mining (Rules and Regulatons), we aze providing notice of this proposed decision. <br />Under Rules 2.08.5(3)(a)(iv) and 3.02.2(4) of the Rules and Regulations, the Division is required, at the time of permit <br />renewal, to review and adjust, if necessary and for good cause shown, the reclamation cost estimate at a mine site. <br />Adjustment of the reclamation cost estimate is required if the cost of any future reclamation at the mine site changes. The <br />Division is proposing an increase to the reclamation cost estimate. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the fast publication of the public notice by the Division in the Delta County <br />/ndependent. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 3 miles North of Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, 10-15, 22-25, Township l3 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sectors 5-8, 17-19, 29 and 3Q, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Copies of the renewal application aze available for public review in the Division offices at the above address, at the Paonia <br />Public Library, 140 Grand Avenue, Paonia, CO 81428 and at the Delta County Clerk and Recorder's Office, 5"' and Pahner, <br />Delta, CO 81416. A Copy of the Division's "Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance" is also available at those <br />locations.
