• I. INTRODUCTION
This hydrology and sedimentology report has been prepared as part of an application
for Phase II bond release for the reclaimed areas of the La Plata No. 1 Mine (Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology permit C-87-072). Currently, there is no active
permit for the mine. Rocky Mountain Bank and Trust is responsible for reclamation at
the mine site and holds the reclamation bond. Documented within is information
relative to the erosion and sedimentation condition of the reclaimed bench and access
road, and the adjacent native pinyon juniper and oakbrush vegetation communities near
the mine. Quantitative sampling of vegetation was performed in August 1995, in
compliance with Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board Surface Coal Mining Rules
and guidelines and is documented in the vegetation report preceding this report.
Sedimentation and erosion analysis was conducted by Mr. Michael Savage of Savage
and Savage, after discussions with Mr. Harry Ranney of CDMG.
•
•
-1-
