NONTECHN~L SOILS DESCRIPTION REPOR• <br />nontech soi s for 112 reclamation permit <br />Map Soil name and description <br />Symbol ; <br />The Nortez soil is moderately deep and well drained on <br />mesa sandstone. It formed in alluvium from sandstone <br />and shale. Typically, the surface layer is loam 8 <br />inches thick. The upper SO inches of the subsoil is <br />cobbly clay loam. The lower 6 inches is clay loam. <br />The substratum to a depth of 32 inches is loam. <br />Permeability is moderately slow and the available water <br />capacity is low. Surface runoff is very rapid and the <br />hazard of water erosion is very high. The effective <br />rooting depth is 20 to 40 inches. <br />Rock outcrop consists of large exposures of bedrock. <br />Land Capability Unit NIRR 7s. <br />Land Capability Unit NIRR 8s. <br />85 adersburg gravelly loam, 6 to 30 percent slopes <br />n The Radersburg soil is deep and well drained on ridges. <br />~"~~~ mesas. and high terraces.
