PVC column to determine
the mobility of select elements by synthetic meteoric water (lixiviant), lixiviant pH after
contact with the soids, and residual moisture content of the final solids. 'The columns
were thoroughly washed with a dilute acid solution and were rinsed with deionized water
to provide a clean environment for condu5ting the MWMTs. Lixiviant was prepared by
adjusting the pH of the deionized water to~SS with reagent grade nitric acid. The
quantity of lixiviant applied to the minus 2 inch waste rock and process waste samples
was equivalent to the weight of the respective moist solids. Lixiviant was applied in a
manner to insure 24 hour total application.
Extract volumes were measured and filtered through a 0.45µm filter, Appropriately
preserved solution samples for FQ-A and FQ-B were submitted to Chemax Laboratories
for total, free and WAD cyanide analyses. Appropriately preserved solution samples for
the other nine samples were submitted to Accu Labs Reseazch, Inc. and Chemax
Laboratories for metal, analyze and cyanide analyses. The column chazges were allowed
to drain down and residual moisture content of the MWMT solids were determined.
Analytical results for the MWMT extracts aze shown in Tables 2 through 4. Final extract
pH and residual moisture content data are shown in Table 5. Analytical laboratory
report sheets for solution analyses are provided in the Appendix to this report.

McCLELLAND LABORATORIES. INC.
