~*®,- United States Fores[ Paonia P.O. Box 1030
r Department of Service Ranger District N Rio Grande Ave.
Agriculture PHONE NO. 970-527-4131 Paonia, CO 81428
FAX 970-527-4151
File Code: 2820-4
Date: June 9, 2003
Mr. Joe Dudash RECEIVED
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 J(f N ~ ~ LUu.~
Denver, CO 80203
Division of Minerals and Geolagp
Dear Joe,
- -The-Grand Mesa-Uncompahgre-Gunr!ison National-Forests GMUG) has reviewed Bowie -
Resources Limited's (BRL) Technical Revision 25. This revision involves accessing exploration
drill holes on private and BLM lands using routes and roads on the national forest.
The roads and routes proposed by BRL were approved for their commercial use through their
Forest Service Road Use Permit. This permit expired in June 2002, and the GMUG is currently
working with BRL to renew this permit. BRL has indicated that no road upgrades are necessary.
Under the terms of the road use permit, BRL will be required to perform road maintenance and
repair activities at the direction of the Forest Service. Pertaining to BRLs use of the "Terror
Creek Descent", use of this route by full sized vehicles will require removal of steep water bars
adjacent to Tenor Creek, and placement of a gate that must be kept closed and locked at all
times. The gate must be placed so that ATV traffic may pass along one side. The GMUG
authorizes this use for project related traffic only; no personal use by BRL employees is
permitted.
We request that BRL notify the GMUG 48 hours in advance if the drill rig will be mobilized to
the drill sites along Forest Service roads, and we request that BRL notify us at least 4 days in
advance of removing the water bars and placing the gate on the Tenor Creek descent.
Please contact Liane Mattson at the above telephone number if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~..:a,i.~.i.
