Cattany
Acting Division Director
Re: Second Adequacy Review, RN-04/PR-OS
Trapper Mining Company, The Trapper Mine
DMG Permit No. C-81-010
I've reviewed the Trapper Mining Company (TMC) responses to our adequacy letter of August
29, 2002. Trapper's responses were submitted December 18, 2002. Here are my comments, in the
format of our initial adequacy letter. Note that I have added one new item at the end.
1.(a) This item has been adequately addressed.
1.(b) This item has been adequately addressed.
1.(c) This item has been adequately addressed.
1.(d) Please revise proposed Table 3.4-2 to include the dates pre-blast survey notifications were
sent to the owners of the structures listed in this table, whether pre-blast surveys were
requested, and if so, the dates the surveys were provided to the owners of these structures.
2. This item has been adequately addressed,
3. This item has been adequately addressed.
4. This item has been adequately addressed.
5. This item has been adequately addressed.
6. This item has been adequately addressed.
The response to this item needs clarification. The response on proposed page 3-31 states
that "Trapper will monitor air blast on a five-year rotation, with the next monitoring to
occur in 2003. An airblast monitoring plan will be presented to the Division for approval
before initiating the airblast monitoring."
