No. 92-0 ~, dated 7/16/92
Dear Catherine:
In accord with your letter of July 23, 1992 and the Notice of
Violation, served July 16, 1992 I have reviewed the road drainage
design set forth in the Permit Application, (Please note that the
hydraulic capacity of the road to the North Spoil Area was
checked and discussed during the permit renewal in 1990. My
letter of February 8, 1990 to Mr. Larry Routten included
calculations of the hydraulic capacity of the road. Appropriate
sections of the Permit Application were not revised to reflect
the existing characteristics of the road>. Resulting from my
review of the present site drainage and several studies of site
run-off, presented under the Technical Revision for emergency
spillways, I have revised Drawing No. TP-3, "Mine Site Plan" to
include Typical Road Sections. The revised Map is enclosed.
Included with the Sections are the Flow Depth and velocity for
each Typical Section for the 10 year Storm Event. Pages 80a, 806,
and BOc should be deleted from the Permit Application. Page 72,
73, &, 74 are being revised to reflect the current site drainage.
To maintain compliance and impede continued erosion, the Access
Road from the truck loading area to the Mine Site will require
some repair work. The other site roads and drainage facilities
are satisfactory in their present condition for the intended use.
If you have any questions, please advise.
Sincer `~`~/~'(/
~'s'l/x1YGC
Lawrence White P.E.
xc: Twin Pines Investment w/ enclosures
1
