Please find enclosed revised permit pages, revised Map 53 and revised
Map 54, that include this new topsoil pile.
The water tank topsoil stockpile has been designed to contain a maximum of 53,000
CY of topsoil. The footprint of the new topsoil pile is approximately 2.9 acres and
will be constructed in a previously undisturbed area. Surface prepazation for the pile
will include removing all vegetation within the footprint. A bench, 40-feet in width,
will be constructed into the hillside and will be the "key-way" for the topsoil pile. The
topsoil in the area of the key-way will be stripped and pushed above and incorporated
into the stockpile. Approximately 5,000 to 6,000 cy of subsoil will be removed and
utilized for other construction and maintenance projects on the mine site.
The water tank topsoil pile has been designed with two small light-use roads for
ingress and egress to the pile. The roads will be constructed with road-side ditches to
direct any runoffwater to existing ditches, as shown on Map 54. The roads have
been added to the light-use road discussion in the permit text.
Ditch D1-6 is located approximately 50-feet above the pile and will act as a Clear-
water diversion ditch. Drainage off the pile will be contained with a berm, as shown
on Map 54. However, MCC has revised the SEDCAD runs for watersheds 8B and
8CC to account for runoff from the pile, and are attached. Ditches D2-8AA and D2-
8B have been revised to account for the small increase of discharge from the
contributing watersheds. Because the increase is negligible and the culvert designs
will not change, the culvert nomography have not been revised. Tables 43 and 44
have been revised accordingly.
