With this letter Energy Fuels Mining Company (EFMC) respectfully requests extension of the
date for abatement of NOV C-93-52.
Required Remedial Action: 1) Install approved section of diversion, and 2) Reconstruct
portion of diversion to drain into permanent watershed diversion, or 3) Submit a
technical revision to redesign diversions around substation area to reflex existing site
conditions and provide a revised Map 12 to show southern diversion location and
sections relative to approved designs, as done for northern diversions.
Current Abatement Status: Based on field reconnaissance and initial field location of
ditch segments, EFMC has completed preliminary ditch designs and modified Map 12 to
reflex the proposed drainage configuration in the substation area. The revised Map 12
was submitted for OMLR review and comment with an initial abatement submittal on
May 12, 1993. Based on preliminary concurrence with the proposed drainage design,
EFMC will complete and submit final design revisions.
The required abatement date for submittal of revised designs is May 19, 1993. Given the need
for OMLR concurrence with proposed drainage design modifications prior to completion and
submittal of final designs, EFMC is requesting extension of the abatement date for NOV C-93-52
to May 26, 1993. Abatement will involve submittal of final revised drainage designs, associated
technical revision application components, and following OMLR approval, field modifications
to implement the revised designs.
