RE: Technical Revision No. 1, Varra Companies, Jenkins Pit;
Permit M-77-393.
Dear Mr. Schmidt:
This letter will serve to notify you that the April 7, 1955 letter
from Mr. Sorenson to the operator did not constitute final ap~~roval of
Technical Revision No. 1. The letter was intended to approve the
reclamation measures proposed in order to facilitate implementation of
the reclamation compliance program at the site as required in the
inspection report of February 21, 1995. If it is found that these
reclamation measures are not sufficient to return the disturbed area
to the proposed end land use, further measures may be required9. There
are still pending issues related to the revision that must be resolved
prior to the final decision.
As you know, the Division will be inspecting the site on Friday,
April 28, 1995 to check on the concerns that were brougYlt up by
yourself and Mr. Frost in our meeting of April 20 and in the letters
from Mr. de Raismes and Mr. Frost that were received by the Division
on April 21, 1995.
