III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
TABLE 1: Alternative treatment Programs
Program Dosage Daily Usa e
Enact 7883 200ppm 55 GPD
Enact 7883 75ppm 21 GPD
Enact 7885 40ppm 11 GPD
NALCO Enact 7885 is an environmentally acceptable chemical
now in use at a number of mines as an aid in improving the
quality of mine discharge waters. Product bulletins and
MSDS sheets for Enact 7885 are enclosed.
Wyoming Fuel Company is proposing a field trial of this dual
treatment program to determine the actual potential for
further reducing TSS concentration levels. One portafeed
container of 7885 will be ordered for this trial. This will
provide enough chemical for a 30 day test. NALCO will
provide onsite assistance in setting up and optimizing the
dual treatment program.
If the field trial is successful in reducing TSS levels, a
continuing program of dual chemical treatment will be
initiated on an as needed basis. Portable bulk tanks will
be located adjacent to the main return fan house and pond
002. The locations of these portable tanks is shown on the
enclosed Golden Eagle Surface Facilities map. The area is
already disturbed and no permanent facilities will be
constructed. Thus no bond increase will be required.
A copy of the letter from the Colorado Health Department
approving the thirty day field trial for dual chemical
treatment of our mine water is also enclosed.
If you need further information or have any questions on
this matter please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ronald G. Thompson
Mine Engineer
Enclosures
\word5\GE-TR18
