S4e have been quarrying rocks for <br /> 5 years and years; ? believe, since we starter. the business <br /> 6 there in '39, which was when we inherited the property from <br /> 7 our mother and dad. <br /> g We have been operating, oh, whenever we could <br /> 9 sell rock. There was some mention that cae operated every da;~. <br /> 10 Sometimes we never operated for years on end. If you can't <br /> 11 sell it; you don't dig it. You just caait until you have <br /> 12 somebody who wants some. That's how come the quarries are <br /> 13 there. <br /> <br /> 14 Some of the holes--well, I know ;when I was a <br /> 15 small boy, I would go up with my dad, up there, and he'd <br /> 16 show the quarries. <br /> 17 He'd say, "Well, this is~where so and so worked <br /> 1$ and this is where so and so worked." <br /> 19 The rock was all bare and open. <br /> 20 I can remember when I was going to high school <br /> 21 I went up there, went up with the truck, and we hauled some <br /> 22 rock down. <br /> 23 The quarries were left open.
