Lang <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 4, 2002, an application to renew an existing pemut <br />to conduct coal mining operations at the King Coal Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate <br />from this date of filing. <br />National King Coal, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land <br />located approximately 7 miles southwest of Hesperus, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />All or Portions of Sections 28, 29, 31, 32, T35N, R11W, NMPM; Portions of Sections 5 and 6, T34N, R11W; <br />Portions of Sections 36, T35N, R12W. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Hespems. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E <br />Second Ave, Durango, CO 81301.
