BARRY: -- problems with Uoughty?
MR. WOODS: That's correct.
MR. BARRY: Mark, is Doughty continuing to mine
MR. LOYE: I'm not sure. He mines sporadically.
I••inding him mining at any one time is very nearly impossible.
F}e has mined sporadically for many years and he knows he's
under cease and desist. That came back the first time.
The Board issued that cease and de.;ist, by the
way, quite some time ago and I managed to get the cease and
desist to him finally after it had come back -- I mailed it
certified mail -- and he called me up on his own one day and
I told him he was under a cease and desist. I mailed it
certified mail, the same way_as I always have, anc9 to and
behold, the receipt came back signed Lee Doughty pit the same
address as I've always used, So he knows he's unc}er a cease
and desist.
MR. BARRY: My question is do we have any
increased environmental damage or ~ai~at are the probabilities
of that by not holding this hearing today and insi:ead of not
holding it, ask the Jefferson Co~•nty Sheriff to serve ]iim
personally with notice of this hearing.
MR. LOYE: My opinion in this is becsically that
if he ignores our mail and ignores oLr process, it would seem
logical to me he ignores our cease and desist orders.
1a.., .... j._ ; ~. ~
F/l er: ±' ce nre.+~ rr x s .a, ,.lrl a rr s. n r
C(rr frJ Shnnhond !:. /,~ao-o
IS(Ml Cheni~Ji, 1.„eJ
/.111/(IC,t (•~L rn~lu Ylll ]l
~a~~ ~~..• •.•
..
