This pit is very shallow
and the evaporation rate would be high due to the strong winds in the area. We aze beginning to
question leaving all exhausted gravel pits open for water storage due to the high evaporation
rates resulting in water losses. The district feels reclamation to range land would be the best
alternative at this site and many others along the front range, even though the costs are greater.
Sincerely,
I ~'~-'S `~'"~
Michael Shay UUU
District Manager
