You inspected this sand
and gravel pit on April 4, 1999. No problems or possible violations were found.
This pit has received a significant amount of reclamation. High walls have been reduced
to the specified gradient of 3:1. The pit floor was leveled and cleaned up. All the
features listed as problems in the inspection prior to April 20, 1999 have been corrected.
Leaky drums, buckets of oil, and contaminated soil have all been removed. In the your
report you stated, "The operator is commended for a good job of reclamation in the north
end of the pit."
Because of all the recent reclamation that has taken place, I am requesting that the current
bond be reduced. Presently the bond is set at $19,504, I ask that it be decreased to
$1,000.
Thank you for all your assistance.
Sincerely,
Conor Feene
Durango Construction
Department of Environmental Affairs
A Division of Four Corners Materials, Inc.
25615 Highway 160 E o P.O.
