The soils tend to <br /> increase in salinity with depth. <br /> Care should be exercised in stockpiling the overburden in this area. <br />' The top 1 to 2 feet of th e overburden is higher in organic mat ter and <br /> lower in salinity than th e underlying material. This material should <br /> be kept separate from the underlying overburden.
