Notice of Violation No. CV-2004-003 - Failure to Seed Approved Seed Mix J
Dear Kent Gorham:
Pursuant To the Divisions extension of N.O. V. No. CV-2004-003, extended to October 8,
2004 (5:00 pm) and in accordance with Step 1 of the N.O.V., enclosed for your review is a data
spreadsheet from the reclamation contractor, Rocky Mountain Reclamation ("RMR") which
details the seed mix species, volume and PLS/ft2 that was seeded or will be seeded on the Corley
property. RMR performed the seeding operations at the Southfield Iviine October, 2003.
In summary, RMR's data demonstrates that the volume (PLS/ft2) seeded adequately
meets or exceeds quantities required for the Corley seed mix with the exception of two species
pointed out by the Division, Indian Ricegrass and Beardless Bluebunch Wheatgrass.
Step 1 of the N.O. V:
Pending the Divisions approval, the Indian Ricegrass and Beardless Bluebunch
Wheatgrass will be interseeded by handPoroadcast at double the approved seed-drill rate
on the Corley property as follows:
Drill Rate Broadcast
Indian Ricegrass 1.6 PLS/ft2 3.2 PLS/ft2
Beardless Bluebunch Wheatgrass 4.0 PLS/ft2 8.0 PLS/ft2
Step 2 of the N.O. V:
Unless delayed by foul weather conditions, shortage of seed or contractor availability, the
interseeding will be performed as referenced in Step 1 above prior to October 31, 2004.
