TRAPPER MINE RESPONSE TO PR-1 ADEQUACY RESPONSE DOCUMENT
May, 1987
5. Reclamation Plans and Revegetation Success Criteria
As noted in the Division's Mid-Terns Review to Trapper Mining Inc.
(December 5, 1985), there was no[ at that time, and still is not, any
approved standards for shrub density, productivity or vegetative cover on
the reclaimed areas. Acceptable standards must be submitted and approved
before the Division can approve this permit revision.
Response
Trapper is in the process of submitting standards for cover and produc-
tion. A revised proposed standard for production was submitted to the
Division on May 8, 1987. A revised standard for cover will be submitted
shortly.
Trapper takes exception to the claim that an approved shrub standard does
not exist. The standard of shrub clumps and an implied shrub density
standard of 400 stems per acre was approved as part of our original
permit document. However, since that time, i.e. mid-term permit review,
the Division has found that original approval unacceptable. Trapper
resubmitted a new shrub standard on May 4, 1987.
