Lang
Drviaion Dveaor
I have reviewed the surface water hydrology portion of the permit
for the Roadside-Cameo Mine as part of the Division's preliminary
adequacy review for RN-02. As part of this review, I have reviewed
the 1989, 1990 and 1991 Annual Hydrology Reports as submitted by
Roadside. A copy of this letter can be kept in the AHR file for
future reference.
The following sources were also used in reviewing surface water
hydrology for RN-02:
Permit Application
1985 PR Findings Document
1987 RN-O1 File
1990 Midterm File
Technical Revision 9
Revisions Since 1985
MLRD Sampling Data
1981 (or earlier) Baseline Data
1992 NPDES Permit
Violations Since 1985
Prior Lead Specialists:
Jim Herron
Tom Gillis
Jim Stevens
Randy Price
THE FOLLOWING TRENDS WERE NOTED BASED UPON AVAILABLE SAMPLING DATA:
Pond discharges: Sediment ponds rarely discharge. Sampling data
is generally nonexistent.
Iron: Has remained well within river receiving standard.
Total Dissolved Solids: Values appear to have decreased over time.
Salt contributions continue to exceed river standards for river.
