<br />Mr. Greg Reed -2- <br />Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation <br />and Enforcement <br />Total annual water depletion for the Bear Mine is: <br />19.5 ac.ft.lyr. <br />+ 1.1 ac.ft./vr. <br />20.6 ac.ft./yr. <br />February 28, 1994 <br />The last water depletion consultation for Bear Mine that the Division has in its records is dated <br />July 24, 1985. A water depletion figure of 5.3 acre-feet per year was calculated at that time. <br />Total increase in water depletion volume attributable to Bear Mine No. 3 since the last consulta- <br />tion is: <br />20.6 ac.ft./yr. <br />- 5.3 ac.ft./vr. <br />15.3 ac.ft./yr. <br />Please review the above calculations of water depletion based on information submitted by the <br />operator. Subsequent to your review, please contact the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to <br />initiate formal consultation on this matter. <br />Thank you for your cooperation.
