EXHIBIT D -Mining Plan
a) This pit is being converted from a 110 operation (originally known as the
Krehmeyer Pit, M-2005-070) to a 112 operafion. Thus, mining has already
occurred in the origina19.9 acre portion of the pit. This will now be known as
Tract 1. Once the original area is completed, there aze essentially two additional
phases for this mining area. Tract 21ies immediately to the north of the original
pemut. Tract 3 lies east of Tracts 1 and 2. The mining will essentially be
divided into three areas. Each area will be re-sloped and prepazed for
reclamation before a new azea is opened. The mining is expected to begin as
soon as possible after a permit is obtained. The operation will provide material
for use in construction and/or road building. The estimated life of the pit is
indefinite.
b) There was no topsoil for a large portion of Tract 1. There is topsoil in Tract 2
and in Tract 3. That area encompassed by Sandy Creek is an intermittent
waterway, which is typically dry except when heavy rainfall occurs. There is
topsoil of approximately 5" in depth on those azeas lying outside the creek.
Those areas having topsoil will be stripped, stockpiled, and utilized when the pit
is reclaimed. There will be a topsoil stockpile site in each of the three Tracts, as
needed, keeping the material close by so that reclamation moves more quickly.
c) There would appear to be no waste rock or material at the site.
d} Mining is anticipated to a maximum depth of 15 feet. The mining plan varies
slightly for each area, depending upon topography and availability of material.
Tract #1 is being mined beginning at the west end and proceeding east.
Tract #2 will be mined beginning at the north edge of Tract 1 and proceed north.
Tract #3 will be mined beginning at the west side of the azea shown and moving
east.
e) There is an existing haul road shazed with the landowner and gravel pit operator
immediately to the west. It exits onto Co. Rd. 16. There will probably be a haul
road from Tract #3 onto Co. Rd. 11. These temporary haul roads will be
reclaimed as the pit is closed. There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities
located at the mine site. The equipment used to mine the gravel will be
primarily afront-end loader and trucks. At some point during the operation a
bulldozer and a scraper may be employed. Some screening could occur at the
site. All of the equipment will be serviced off premises.
~ Since mining has been occurring in Tract #1 under the 110 permit, a disturbance
does exist.
