Cattany <br />Grand Junction, CO 81506 Acting Division Director <br />Re: Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 15 (TR-I S) <br />Replace Small Sediment Pond Structure with Silt Feoce <br />Deaz Ms. Robertson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 19, 2002, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Munger <br />Canyon Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Lodestaz Energy, Inc.. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This revision would allow for the replacement of an existing total containment sediment trap on the Munger Mine bench with a <br />silt fence. <br />The Underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 18 miles North of Loma, Colorndo. The permit azea <br />is further described as follows: <br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, and 34, T7S, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Portions of Sections 2 and 3, TSS, RI02W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Rail Loadout: Portions of Section 23, T2N, R3 W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Portions of Section 3, T 1N, R3 W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Howazd Canyon & Garvey Canyon. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the app]icant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Garfield County <br />Courthouse, 109 8th St Ste 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
