The Division has reviewed Twentymile Coal Company's application for a technical revision to update
operation of the Fish Creek Borehole Treatment Facility, installation of remote monitoring equipment and
road upgrades (TR 00-35). The Division has several questions as a result of otu review:
1. In the second pazagraph on page 2.05-50 under the heading Mine Water Dischazge System, the text refers
to sumps shown on Map 23 and 23a. Neither of these currently approved maps show sump areas. Map
16, recently added to the permit via TR-32 does show sump azeas and the location of the Fish Creek
borehole. Please consider referencing Map 16 in the text rather than Maps 23 and 23a.
2. On proposed page 2.05-50 (rev. ]/14/00) The Eastern Mining District dewatering borehole is referred to
as the 10 Right Dewatering Borehole. Elsewhere in the pemut, page Z.0~-78 (MR 98-154 rev. 9/9/97),
proposed page 2.05-82.1 (RN03 rev. 12/10/98) and proposed page 2.05-77.1 (TR 00-35 rev. 1/14/00) refer
to this site as the EMD dewateting treatment facility or EMD dewatering borehole. The Division requests
that Twentymile Coal Company remain consistent in the name reference to this site. Please revise text to
keep naming designation consistent.
3. Remote monitoring locations are not shown on Map 26 as stated on page 2.05-50.1. The locations are
shown on Map 13a. Is the correct map reference Map 13a or some other map? Please corrector revise
the text as necessary.
4. The detention time chart on page 2.05-77 has `5vrapped azound the page". The table on approved text
page 2.05-77 (NIIt 99-163 rev. 4/16/99) has 5 columns, whereas the proposed page 2.05-77 (TR 00-35
rev. 1/14/00) has 4 columns with "TTL Detention" column overlapping on top of The "Flow Rate (gpm)"
column. Please correct this information and re-submit the text page.
