Long <br />Division Director <br />Re: Roadside Portals (Permit No. C-81-041) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 31 (TR-31) <br />Incidental Boundary Change <br />Deaz Mr. Kline: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, - <br />Section 116, Pazagraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 04, 1999, an <br />application to revise coal minim operations at the Roadside Portals was considered complete for the <br />purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Powderhorn Coal Company. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This revision was submitted in response to DMG order issued 8/31/99. The revision would <br />incorporate certain road segments into the permit azea, and properly designate certain additional <br />azeas as "disturbed", on permit azea maps. The revision entails incidental permit boundary <br />changes. The permit boundary changes increase azeal extent of the permit area by 74 acres. <br />"Disturbed azea" acreage would be increased by 1.8 acres. <br />The underground coal minit~ operation is on land located approximately 5 miles north of Palisade. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 26,2 7, 28, 29, 34, and 35, T10S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of <br />Sections 6, 7, and 18, T11S, R97W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and 14, T11S, <br />R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section 1, T1S, R2E, Ute PM; all in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Cameo & <br />Palisade. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County <br />Courthouse, Box 20,000, Grand Junction, CO 81501, and at the Division office. For additional <br />information or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
