Once this azea is backfilled, the disturbed azea will be re-topsoiled. Map C-2 shows this worst
case area for the current condition. The area is divided into 3 sub-areas as described below:
Area #1: Main existing pit area: 27.4 acres
Area #2: Topsoil berms and roads: 7.56 acres
Area #3: Employee housing area: 2.78 acres
Total Disturbed Area for worst case: 37.74 acres.
Topsoiling will be performed on the tota137,74 acres. After moving with scrapers, the material
will be spread and graded using dozers. The amount of material needed for this task is 60,887 cy,
based on 1 foot of topsoil replacement. The amount of material stored in the berms, as of the start
of 2007, is 75,000 cy. Since the full volume will need to be moved, the worst case costs aze
based on this volume.
A cost of $25,000 is allocated for removing portions of the plants and fuel farm which are not
portable. Approximately 1250 cubic yards of concrete foundations are present on site which will
be reclaimed by filling with at least 3 feet of imported fill. Huge amounts of fill aze being
brought to the site.
The seeding of sage seeds adds greatly to the revegetation costs.
Yagneur Pit June 07 L-2
