Bureau of land Management <br />Craig District Office <br />455 Emerson Street <br />Craig, CO 81625 <br />RE: Deserado Mine Bond Reduction (C-81-018) <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division proposes to grant a reduction in <br />the performance bond for Western Fuels-Utah, Incorporated's Deserado Mine. <br />Western Fuels-Utah has requested a reduction in liability from 36,719,725 to <br />55,260,628. The reduction in liability reflects adjustments made for updated <br />reclamation costs, as well as for the elimination of night shifts in <br />reclamation work, thereby increasing equipment efficiency. <br />The Deserado Mine is located in Rio Blanco County, approximately ten miles <br />east of Rangely. The legal description of the land is as follows: <br />Sixth P.M., Township 2 North, Ranqe 101 West <br />Section l: SW1/4, S1/2 NW1/4, N1/2 SEl/4, SW1/4 NE1/4, WI/2 SE1/4 <br />NE1/4, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 <br />Section 2: Sl/2, S1/2 N1/2, Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 <br />Section 3: S1/2, S1/2 N1/2, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 <br />Section 4: S1/2, Sl/2 N1/2, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 <br />Section 10: NE1/4 NE1/4 <br />Section 11: Wl/2 NWl/4, NE1/4 NW1/4, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 <br />Section 12: Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5 <br />
