MANAGEMENT <br />The DRMS' letter dated May 16, 2007, transmitted its additional adequacy comments <br />regarding the referenced technical revision. Following is Bowie Resources response to <br />item 26: <br />Section 2.05.5. Postmining Land Use <br />26. DRMS: Because BRL is proposing a change in the postmining land use from <br />cropland to pastureland for the area encompassed by the proposed gob pile no. 3, <br />please show that the proposed alternative land use will conform to Rule 4.16.3 and that <br />the proposed land use will conform to the definition of pastureland found in Rule <br />1.04(71)(b). <br />Amended pages 2.05-60i through 60vi address the requirements of Rule 4.16.3. Rule <br />1.04(71)(b) defines pastureland as land which is used for the production of adapted, <br />domesticated forage plants for livestock grazing or occasional hay production. <br />Pastureland maintenance entails cultural inputs such as seeding, irrigation, fertilization, <br />brush control and pest control. BRL believes there is little doubt the pasture seedmix will <br />produced plants suitable for livestock grazing. BRL will perform the necessary cultural <br />inputs. <br />Sincerer <br />J. E.
