Dept. of Natural ResourceG <br />Re: Schwartzwalder Mine Amendment <br />File No. 77-300 <br />Dear Mr. Shelton: <br />Pursuant to our discussion of April 14, 1983, Cotter <br />Corporation hereby requests a postponement of the hearing now <br />scheduled for April 27, 1983, relating to possible violations <br />of the existing MLRB permit for the Schwartzwalder Mine', and <br />to the permit amendment application filed by Cotter on <br />February 16, 1983. Cotter also requests an extension cf time <br />within which to respond to certain MLRD comments, and to cer- <br />tain referral agency comments, as described below. <br />With this request Cotter is filing responses to <br />ML RD comments identified in the Division comment letter of <br />March 16, 1983, as follows: A.1.; B.1.; C.1. through C.4.; <br />D.1 through D.6.; E.1. through E.S; F.7., E.9., E.11. through <br />E.19.; and G.1. <br />In order to provide a better factual, scientific <br />and technical basis for discussion between the Division and <br />Cotter; for recommendations by the Division and for determina- <br />tions by the Board, Cotter wishes to conduct further investigation, <br />research, analyses and modelling relating principally to the <br />characteristics of waste and ore sorter reject rock. The <br />results of this work will be reflected in subsequent responses <br />to Division comments concerning the waste and reject rock <br />and to comments concerning waste and ore sorter reject pile <br />configuration, stability, and reclamation.
