Since water from tl
alluvial aquifer will be injected into the West Pit backfill aquifer through the ne
wells, and because the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer water quality around the interc
currently much better than the water quality in the West Pit backfill aquifer, the
in, or near, the BF-2 well may be significantly improved within a very short tim
not represent overall results of the groundwater cleanup operation within the W
could be very misleading when the time comes to determine whether the water I
West Pit is clean enough to warrant shutting down the nano-filtration facility.
BMRI should revise the performance monitoring commitment in TR-26 to excll
include BF-6 as part of the performance monitoring program outlined in the rev
application and to begin monitoring BF-6 in June, 2000. BF-6, and the current I
monitoring well (BF-4), are sufficient distances from the injection wells so they
immeadiately affected by the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer water.
Please respond to the proposed change in TR-26 rather quickly so the revision
as soon as all the issues have been addressed.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
S merely,
~/~ . 2Q1z.Q ~J'-C~-~.
games Dillie
Environmental Protection Specialist
DI `/151 ON O F
MINERALS
GEOLOGI'
R E C L A M A T I O N
MINING•SAFETY
Bdl Ovens
Govemrn
Greg E.
