The purpose of this letter is to
record the status of PB 1, 2 & 3.
PS 1 -Issued for absent mine identification sign and affected area perimeter markers,
required by Rule 3.1.12. Corrective Action was to post and maintain mine identification
sign and perimeter markers.
Operators response, contained in 2/13/96 letter, stated that a mine identification
sign had been posted at the north entrance to the mine site and that boundary
markers had been placed at the four corners of the affected area.
DMG finds the operators response to PB 1 adequate.
PB 2 -Issued for exploration holes, excavated prior to permit issuance, remained open
and pose a potential threat to health and safety. Corrective Action was to backfill the
existing exploration holes and re-seed, and submit a TR showing the locations of
exploration holes on the Mining Plan Map and identified within the Reclamation Plan, as
required by Rule 6.3.512)(f-.
Operators response, contained in 2/13/96 letter, stated that the exploration holes
would be backfilled and re-seeded as soon as weather conditions allow. Operator
stated that a TR had been submitted to MLRB, showing all existing disturbances.
DMG Durango office has not received the TR referenced by the operator. Upon
receipt of the TR, DMG Durango office can commence the review process of the
TR.
