•
NATIVE OR POUNDS
INTRODUCED SPECIES PLS/ACRE*
N Four-wing Saltbush 1**
(Atriplex canescens)
N Winterfat 1/2
(Ceratoides Janata)
N Gardner Saltbush 1/2**
(Atriplex gardneri)
N Alkali Sacaton 2
(Sporobolus arioides)
18
* This rate is for drill seeding. Broadcast or hydroseeded
applications will be double this rate.
** Tublings may be substituted for seeds at a comparable rate.
In addition to the seed mix described above, Colony
plans to test other species for reclaiming the Parachute
area. These include Bottlebrush Squirreltail (Sitanion
hystrix}, Galleta (Hilaria jamesii), Inland Saltgrass (6istichlis
spicata) and possibly Rubber Rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus
nauseosus). These species will be seeded in a small test
area adjacent to those areas being seeded with the mix described
above. After several growing seasons, these species will be
evaluated to determine if they should be included with the
permanent seed mix for the Parachute area.
If you have comments, please contact me at 695-2220 in
Denver.
MAS:cs
Sincerely,
Mark A.
