Ms. Lori Potter
October 10, 1999
Page 6
Inc
Where will the water pumped from the Pink Gneiss Pit wells be disposed? Review of fhe BMRI analytical
database indicates that, in addition to high metals concentrations, samples produced by well BF-7 have
elevated gross alpha activity (average of 98 pCi/L, n = 5).
DMG TECHNICAL REVIEW LETTER
RMC also reviewed the DMG's technical review of BMRI's response to the TR-26 adegluacy letter. The
DMG's response was dated September 15, 1999, and included two internal DMG merho's to )im Dillie
from Harry Posey and dated September 10, 1999 as attachments. In addition to our comments above,
RMC would add gross alpha to the list of analytes mentioned twice by Mr. Posey as exceeding drinking
water standards. BMRI must determine the nature and extent of this radiological contamination, and
assess the applicability of the proposed treatment system on these types of parameters, if pertinent.
Please call me at 303-665-6283 if you require additional information.
Yours truly,
ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONSULTANTS, INC.
~~uce ~ /~an~~
Bruce T.
