~; - Apparently, at a minimum, well BF-2 and one other BF series well will be included in the
monitor plan. There appears to be some variance in backfill water quality betweeh the north and
south edges of the pit, as well as from west to east. We recommend including 4 vVells (BF-
2,3,4,and 6) in the backfill monitoring program to provide reasonable distribution of wells in the
central part of the West Pit where most activities will be taking place. It is difficdlt to map
trends or contour parameter concentrations with only 2 data points. Having 4 points in the
central part of the pit should be helpful.
Response to comment on "Aquifer Test", Page 14-15 .. Respondent ind~ca[es aquifer
tests were re-analyzed using an alternate technique based upon specific capacity. Q~Io
documentation of the procedure, or re-analysis is provided. We assume the referenced procedure
is more involved than simply applying the estimation:
Sc=T/C
where: Sc=Specific Capacity
T = Transmissivity
C =Constant between 1500 and 2000, depending upon confinemert[
We would like to review the analysis.
I discussed monitoring in the pink gneiss pit with Bruce Marshall. I believe his monitor
recommendations per his E-Mail are appropriate and should be included in your response to [he
pilot testing document.
