The violation was issued for failure to <br />construct the refuse area pond by the approved date. <br />Late 1918 - Early 1979: Snowmass Coal Company (then Anchutz Coal Co.) <br />constructed the sedimentation pond below the refuse pile. <br />May 7, 1979 - D1LRD Inspection: Carol Pahlke and Roger Funston were <br />inspectors, Craig Sherwood was the Snowlnass contact. <br />Inspection Report Record: "Cracks were forming in the dam <br />which forms a sediment pond at the toe of the refuse dump." <br />"Stability of this structure is questionable." No Division <br />action taken. <br />May 13, 1980 - MLRD Inspection: Roger Funston, inspector; Craig <br />Sherwood, contact. <br />Inspection Report Record: "There are signs of instability of <br />the embankment of the sediment pond below the pile ... tension <br />cracks with a potential for sloughing." <br />Compliance P,ction: "Reconstruct this embankment to ensure <br />stability within 90 days (by Nugust 13, 1980)".
