Lochhead
E.ecmwe Director
Michael a. Long
Drv~sion Dnector
Kaiser Ventures Inc. has submitted an application for bond release at the Chimney Rock Mine.
Our records indicate you own portions of the surface and/or mineral rights within the permit
boundary. On October 10, 1996, the Division of Minerals and Geology deemed the application
complete, and the review period began.
Kaiser Ventures Inc. has requested a Phase II bond release of the entire site which would reduce
the bond currently held by $200,000. This would leave $120,000 to complete all reclamation tasks.
The release affects the entire 110 disturbed acres located in portions of Sections 29 & 30,
Township 34 North, Range 4 West.
The Division will be conducting a site inspection to determine the eligibility of the area for
release on October 29, 1996 at 10:00 AM. You may elect to attend, if should you so desire.
A copy of the bond release application is available for public inspection at the Division office.
Written comments may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the
Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203,
(303) 866-3567.
Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~~~
Harry B.
