Keffelew <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 / <br />Re: Continental Materials Corporation, Pueblo East Pit (Permit No. M-1986-,0/15) (CHS #38250) <br />Dear Mr. Keffelew: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated February 26, 2007 (received by our office on March 1) <br />regarding the project referenced above. <br />A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory indicated that one survey for cultural <br />resources has been conducted within a small portion of the proposed permit area and no cultural <br />resource sites are known to be located within the proposed permit area. However, our files contain <br />incomplete information for this area, as most of Colorado has not yet been inventoried for cultural <br />resources. As a result, there is the possibility that as yet unidentified cultural resources exist within <br />the permit area. <br />Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under State law <br />CRS 24-80 part 13 apply and must be followed. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
