The permit revision would expand the current mine plan
area into the Eastern Mining District and expand the permit boundary.
oe cow
0.~ 4~
N<~,
~ ~B]6 ~
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael B. Long
Drcisron Dvecfor
The mine plan area is located in portions of Sections 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24,
2b, 27, 28, and 33 in TSN, RBbW of the bth P.M. the expanded permit boundary
is located in portions of Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24,
26, 27, 28, and 33 in TSN, R86W of the 6th P.M., Routt County, Colorado. The
above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of
Cow Creek, Milner, Oak Creek and Rattlesnake Butte.
Because the above referenced permit revision application would incorporate
additional lands into the permit area or might otherwise alter previously
approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are requesting your
agency's evaluation of the potential for impacts to threatened or endangered
species of plants or animals, or wildlife species otherwise protected by
federal law.
In order for us to approve this revision, we are required to make a finding
that "the activities would not affect the continued existence of endangered or
threatened species or result in the destruction or adverse modification of
their critical habitats as determined under the Endangered Species Act of
]973..." We request your review and recommendation pursuant to this finding.
Applicable sections of the revision application are enclosed. Please advise
us if you require additional information.
