Illllllllllllllllll
The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co.
A Chevron Company
Edna Mine
P.O. Box 176, Oak Creek, CO 80467
(303)736-8111
RECEIVED
JUN 211993
Division of iwmerais a Geology
Re: Extension of Abatement Time - N.O.V. C-93-024
Ms. Susan Morrison
CDMG
1313 Sherman St.
Room 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Ms. Morrison,
June 16, 1993
This letter serves as a written request for an extension to the
abatement date of July 4, 1993 originally required for step 2 of
the abatement process listed in N.O.V. C-93-024. P&M is requesting
a 60 day extension to September 2, 1993.
Rule 5.03.2 of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board for Coal Mining allows for extensions to be
granted up to 90 days on abatement deadlines. Step 1 of the
abatement process was met on May 20, 1993 when the Division deemed
the application for Technical Revision #24 complete. The reason
the extension is needed is that the Division has listed several
concerns involving the data submitted. The letter listing these
Division concerns was received at the mine on 6/14/93. To address
the concerns listed by the Division involves further technical
designs & studies on our part which will take some time to develop
and be approved by the Division. Should the outcome of these
studies require additional field work, which is likely, the July 4,
1993 deadline will not allow time enough to complete this work.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact
me at the mine site.
Sincerely,
.~.]o~.P^x.-
David Beverlin
Resident Engineer
