C-81-047, C-81-034, and C-81-025
Dear Mr. Stover;
With the recent review of Red Canyon's permit renewal application,
the Division has noted some concerns with the public liability
insurance policy which covers the Blue Ribbon Mine, the Red Canyon
Mine, and the North Thompson Creek Mine. Because MINREC is named
as an "Additional Insured" and SEM Construction Company is the
insured, the Division has no way of verifying that the minimum
insurance coverage, as noted in Rule 2.03.9 (1), is maintained for
each operation. Another concern is all three permits are included
in one certificate.
In order to alleviate these concerns, the Division proposes the
following solutions. MINREC should be listed as the insured and
not as an additional insured. Also, a separate certificate should
be provided for each permit.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Christine E.
