Dept. of Natural Resources
• III IIIIIIIII IIII III
July 2, 1980
Board of the Colorado Division of Minee and ReclaAation
I3I3 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado
G entle~tan ,

At the hearing of the penalty charges against Weld County on
July 23, 1980, by the Board of the Colorado Division of Mines and
Reclamation, could it be judicially mandatory that daaagea due me
be assessed at the same hearing?
It would seem damages occuring during illegal gravel mining would
be more enforceably chargeable to Weld County. Rules and rs6ulationa
should be enforced, by strong penalties if need be. Moreao to an
operator, Weld County in this situation, who repeatedly has Meade
mockery of legislation.
P'urthemore, Cease and Deaiat order and Injunction be effective,
and mining permit be withheld from Weld County till all damages due
me are settled.
