<br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br /> <br />D.1 INTRODUCTION <br />Industrial Resources, Inc. (IRI) proposes to construct and operate a pilot <br />solution mine to recover nahcolite within Section 26, T1S, R98W in Rio Blanco <br />County, Colorado. The nahcolite will be extracted from the Boies Bed on <br />Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Sodium Lease No. C-0118327. The nominal <br />production rate of they pilot mine will be six tons per hour and will involve a <br />total of six solution mining wells. The duration of the Pilot Plant <br />operations is anticipated to be one to two years. A general location map is <br />shown as Exhibit B. Details of the operation and associated schedule are <br />given below: <br />D-2 FACILITIES AND MINING METHODS <br />The permit area for t:he proposed project will consist of approximately 37.1 <br />acres. The Pilot Solution Mining Plant will consist of a recrystallization <br />plant, product load-out bin, an evaporation pond, and a well field. Six <br />wells will comprise the well field. The Pilot Plant is designed to produce a <br />nominal six tons per hiour of nahcolite. (Reference Figure D-1) <br />D.2.1 Facility Construction <br />Surface facilities include three buildings for recrystallization equipment and <br />product handling. The buildings will be steel construction over slab-on-grade <br />floors meeting Rio Blanco County's building codes. In addition, an 8-foot by <br />26-foot trailer will be utilized for a shower and locker facility, a 12-foot <br />by 66-foot trailer will be utilized as an office facility, and a 12-foot x <br />40-foot bunk house trailer. The trailers will be jacked and blocked for <br />stability. <br /> <br />
