Notice of Formal Public Hearing
The Colorado Division of Mined Land Reclamation (the Division) has issued an
Order to Show Cause Why Permit Should Not Be Suspended or Revoked (the Order)
to 81ue FTame Coal Company (Permit No. C-81-035), under the provisions of the
Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. The Order was issued based on
finding made by the Division pursuant to C.R.S. 34-33-122(7), that a pattern
of violations exists at the mine. The Blue Flame mine is an underground coal
operation located approximately 9 miles southwest of Hesperus, within
Section 31, T35N, R11W, New Mexico Prime Meridian, in La Plata County.
The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board will conduct a formal public hearing
concerning suspension or revocation of the permit at their regular monthly
meeting on September 19 and 20, 1990 at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be held in
Room 318, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado. Any
person having an interest which is or may be adversely affected by the Order,
will be given an opportunity to voice their concerns at the hearing.
Copies of the Order and associated documentation are available for review at
the office of the Colorado Division of Mined Land Reclamation, 1313 Sherman
Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203.
9531E/scg
