CO 80246-1530 <br />RE :Howe Pit, Offsite Discharge, Permit No. M-78-052 <br />Dear Mr. Armitage: <br />Recently it has been brought to our attention that an offsite discharge of heavily sediment laden <br />water from the Howe Pit has occurred. The exact date of dischazge, number of discharges and <br />length of time of each discharge is unknown at this time. The Howe Pit is a permitted, large <br />alluvial sand & gravel operation immediately east of the South Platte River and is located in <br />Adams County. The operation is located near the intersection of Old Brighton Road and East <br />1 l2th Avenue. The Howe Pit is permitted for dewatering and dry mining methods. Mobile <br />Premix Concrete, Inc. is the operator of the facility and the Denver Water Board is the surface <br />owner. Attached is a copy of a site location map and contact information.
