<br />Dear Mr. Schneider:
<br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, N accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4,
<br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 22, 2000, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Edna Strip
<br />Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co.
<br />All review and comment periods as provided N the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
<br />P & M is responding to DMG midterm issues and the DMG review of the 1999 Annual Hydrology Report. The revision also
<br />includes water court rulings for the West Ridge and Center Ridge ponds and 1999 revegetation monitoring data.
<br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The permit area
<br />is funkier described as follows:
<br />TSN, R85W, Portions ofSections 31, 32
<br />TSN, R86W, Portions ofSection 36
<br />T4N, R86W, Portions of Sections 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25
<br />T4N, R85W, Portions of Sections 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cow Creek.
<br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of
<br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Routt County
<br />Cotuthouse, Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide
<br />written corrlments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203,
<br />(303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen
<br />(IS) days of this letter. if no comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns
