EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
Mining operations for area C (BLM LEASE) as shown on the mining plan map will
consist of the removal of sand deposits left from historical flooding. The existing Trout
Creek Pit permitted in 1979 removed materials deposited during the flood events of the
eazly 1900's and is planted with a successful alfalfa crop.
The method of mining for the sand material removal will be a loader and trucks. The
haul road shown on exhibit C is currently included in the Trout Creek Pit area. Material
will be removed on a as need basis depending on market demands. Depth of material
removal vanes from 5 - 18 ft with approximately 125,000 tons of material removed from
the site.
The expansion site is located on property owned by the Bureau of Land Management. In
winter months, Mr. Moltz releases excess water from the reservoir. This water percolates
back into the ground eventually reaching the Arkansas River. As the water travels over
the BLM land and onto irrigated fazmland, lazge ice sheets aze created. The extraction of
the sanding material will allow for a faster infiltration rate. The detention basin will
allow water to percolate in the ground and prevent the destruction of the fields. The azea
will be sloped 3 to 1 during reclamation allowing a shallow depression for water
infiltration. The removal of the sand deposit will allow percolation of the waters back
into the ground water table before reaching the fields.
Each mining phase will include between 5-10 acres of disturbance at one time. The sand
material deposits aze alluvial deposits composed of eroded granite. The depth of the
deposit ranges from 6 feet to 18 feet. The primary commodities for this location will be
fill sand. This site will provide fill sand material for the construction mazket. The
timetable for the mining and reclamation will be as follows.
Mining
Phase I Phase II Phase III
2007- 2012 - 2017 - 2022
Reclamation
Phase I Phase II Phase III
2012 2017 2022
