Banta. <br />Division Director <br />Thank you for your letter stating your concerns regarding Castle Concrete <br />Company's compliance with Colorado tAined Land Reclamation Board-ordrared <br />Corrective Actions, <br />The Division has made several inspections of the Snyder Quarry to mlmitor <br />compliance with the ordered corrective actions. Castle Concrete hays met all <br />deadline dates of the July 25-26, 1991 Modified Board Order and Conriitional <br />Cease and Desist Order. <br />Listed below are your concerns followed by the Division's response, <br />A. Has tree planting been completed to the prescribed density and <br />species at corrective plan areas one through four? <br />Response: Yes, an average of 232 trees were planted on each ,acre of <br />disturbed land at these areas. The Division will evaluate <br />tree planting success no sooner than during the sulrtner of <br />the fifth growing season. <br />B. Has tree planting started at areas five through seven, and if so, <br />to the prescribed density and species? <br />Response: Tree planting was not required on these areas by the approved <br />Corrective Action Plan. <br />C. Have the trees been tagged for future accounting at anniversary <br />dates? Mr, Heffner stated in our previous hearing than by tagging <br />and counting, replanting for demise, the establishment criteria <br />would eventually be met. <br />
