Long <br />Division Director <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on <br />September 8, 1994, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct <br />coal mining operations by Bear Coal Company, Inc., P.O. Box 518, Somerset, <br />Colorado 81434, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated <br />thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the <br />Bear Mine. Subsidence monitoring will be suspended at 12 of 15 monitoring <br />stations. The three remaining active subsidence monitoring stations are <br />located in Lone Pine Gulch. <br />The mine is located immediately south and east of the town of Somerset, <br />Colorado, within the following sections: <br />Township 13 South. Range 90 West. 6th P.M. <br />Section 8: S/2 <br />Section 9: S/2 <br />Section 16: All <br />Section 17: All <br />NW/ <br />Section 20: N/2 <br />Section 21: N/2 <br />SE/4 South of River <br />S/2 South of River <br />except portions of the N/2 NW/4, <br />3 NE/4, W/2 SW/4 <br />N/2 NW/4, NE/4, E/2 NW/4 <br />NE/4, N/2 NW/4, SW/4 NW/4 <br />in Gunnison County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map <br />of Somerset, Colorado. <br />
