Re: Required two week publication period, Butala Gravel Pit, M-77-170
1 am processing a permit amendment application which a few local citizens are objecting to. The
Division completed a technical review of the application and is now ready to recommend approval of the
amendment with one stipulation.
The operator is Butala Construction Co., the pit name is Butala Gravel pit, permit number M-77-170.
The site is located about 1 mile north of Salida in Chaffee Counry. The operator proposes to expand the
permit size from 22 acres to 84 acres.
The informal conference was held June 11, 1998 and the pre-hearing conference is scheduled for
September 10, 1998. The item will be presented to the Board during the September 23-24, 1998
meeting.
As required by Rule 1.6.1(4), a notice must be published in a newspaper of general circulation once a
week for two consecutive weeks immeadiately prior to the hearing. Since the Board meets on September
23 and 24, the item needs to be published during the weeks of September 7th and 14th.
